About Us
From a humble beginning in 1987, with only one client, the then Diocese of Johannesburg, KNIGHTS INSURANCE BROKERS has grown into a formidable Brokerage, now sporting representation in KZN, the Free State and the Eastern Cape as well as a full client service center in Gauteng.
Today, our branding is still synonymous with TRUST, UNDERSTANDING, PROFESSIONALISM and SERVICE DELIVERY, not only to the greater Catholic Community of South Africa, but to individual and commercial clients alike.
We have agreements in place with Discovery Life and Health, Liberty Life and Health, Mutual & Federal, Hollard Insurance, Regent Insurance, Santam and Zurich. By dealing only with the major and the most reputable Insurance Companies to underwrite our policies, we ensure an efficient and fully comprehensive Broking service, which combines professionalism and an understanding for the particular needs and requirements of the Catholic Church as well as our Clients.
Our Head Office is situated at 88 8th Avenue, Edenvale, where our Claims and Administration Departments are also based. We are proud to be associated with the Catholic Order of the Knights of da Gama as well as the Southern African Catholic Bishops Conference.
We are affiliated to the Financial Intermediaries Association of Southern Africa and an accredited financial services provider.
A Brief History of Knights Insurance Brokers
In August 1987 the Catholic Order of the Knights of Da Gama (“KDG”) formed a dedicated insurance broking company to assist the Catholic Church in South Africa in its short-term insurance needs and other related matters.
The objectives of KIB are:
To provide a highly professional broking service to its private and commercial clients;
To provide a comprehensive and efficient broking service to the Catholic Church and our varied client base;
To make a profit for its shareholders.
50% of the ordinary shares are held by the South African Catholic Bishops Conference (SACBC).
KIB opened its doors for business during September 1987.
KIB, as a company, understands the particular needs and requirements of the Church and the Religious organizations .
